Here is my take on these delicious flourless almond cookies (14 cookies).
You'll need:
1 egg white
1/4 cup white sugar
100g (3.5 ounces) blanched, sliced almonds
How to make:
1. Heat the oven to 275ºF.
2. In a medium bowl mix egg white and sugar, add almonds and mix well.
3. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
4. Using a spoon make small mounds of the mixture, 1" apart.
5. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden.
6. Let cookies cool completely before removing them from the parchment paper.
Note: I tried substituting the white sugar with brown sugar and I prefer the white sugar version.
Enjoy.

Vim / Test Knitters
I'm looking for test knitters to knit Vim, my new casual slouchy hat design. The pattern is in its last stages and will be ready after the holidays. • Test knitters knit the pattern and let the designer know their thoughts and comments before it gets published. • If you're interested testing Vim please send me an email or go to my Ravelry page and leave me a message.
Vim is knit with different denim jeans shades to create a modern fair isle design that works with any casual outfit. The supersoft, cotton blend is perfect for mild climates or year round usage. Vim can be knit in two sizes, small (17" circumference) and medium (18" circumference). Needles: US 6 (4mm), 16” (40cm) circular needles ; US 6 (4mm) DPNS ; US 8 (5mm), 16” (40cm) circular needles. Yarn: DungarEase by Knit One Crochet Too.

(Caret) Vim
A new project named Caret Vim for the chevron fair isle design I came up with energy and enthusiasm I felt when I started knitting again. • The caret is an inverted V-shaped symbol. It was originally
used, and continues to be, in handwritten form as a proofreading mark to
indicate where a punctuation mark, word, or phrase should be inserted in a
document. • More info about yarn, needle size and pattern will be available soon.

Nutella morning buns
These Nutella buns look awesome. I haven't tried baking them yet, but I have to say that I love this picture and how appetizing they look. These are next on my list. You can find the recipe and the beautiful blog here.

My voice
I'm trying to find my own voice in this medium, water colors are new to me. Sure I painted with water colors before, but I never got to where I wanted to be, just wasn't crazy about the result, until now. I love the transparent quality of the colors when they mix with each other. After watching a few videos on Youtube I tried to paint myself. My graphic esthetics took over and I added pens and colored pencils. I wonder where it will take me and how I'll make it my own. Other than getting the proper paper and brushes, I'm planning to take a class at Otis, my favorite art school in the area. This is my first attempt to find myself in water colors (It's probably not a good idea to post my first attempts after the amazing art of Kiana Mosley, I guess we all have to start somewhere).

Cooking colors
I just came back from a wonderful long weekend in Portland and Washington. I attended a great class at WildCraft Studio school called Kitchen Sink Dyes. Chelsea Heffner, the owner and teacher of this class is very knowledgable and kind. We had a wonderful walk in the forest to harvest Lupine, an amazing fresh and yummy lunch and a great time learning all we could about dyeing fabric and yarn with everyday herbs, spices, flowers and veggies. More details in the next post.
