GF Mafroum and Corn Couscous
Gluten Free mafroum and corn couscous. • It brings back childhood memories. A family member of mine was born in Tripoli and every once in a while we got mafroum and some couscous (from her grandmother) for the weekend, it was delicious. • My mafroum is gluten free and the couscous is made out from corn, also gluten free. I got both recipes from the kitchen coach blog (it was recommended by my dear friend Sharon Saar in one of her posts. Thank you Sharon.), I just love his recipes. They are all in Hebrew but I'll try to translate them to English. Here is the mafroum and the corn couscous recipes in Hebrew. I made the mafroum gluten free by using GF bread instead of regular bread and brown rice flour instead of regular flour. I added more tomato sauce to the sauce at the last stage. I also don't recommend to freeze them, they don't taste as good after freezing. Enjoy!!!

Salt Bride
Salt Bride is a series of eight large colour prints by an Israeli artist Sigalit Landau. Photographed underwater, working in collaboration with Yotam
From, the images document the transformation of a dress submerged in the
salt-rich waters of the Dead Sea.
The traditional Hasidic garment shown in the photographs is
a replica of the costume worn by the female character Leah in the canonical
Yiddish play, The Dybbuk. Written by S. Ansky, The Dybbuk tells
the story of a young bride possessed by an evil spirit and subsequently
exorcised. In Landau’s Salt Bride series, Leah’s black garb is transformed
underwater as salt crystals gradually adhere to the fabric. Over time, the
sea’s alchemy transforms the plain garment from a symbol associated with death
and madness into the wedding dress it was always intended to be. –Marlborough Contemporary

Winter Colors Salad
This post is about my dear friend Sharon Haspel Sa'ar amazing recipe Winter Colors Salad. When I saw her post about the salad I fell in-love, first with the colors (I'm a designer after all) then with the ingredients. As you know me by now I like doing things my way. I followed Sharon's recipe, I made the dressing exactly as she instructed, but I didn't have chestnuts, yams or cookie bags. I replaced the yams with small regular potatoes, and added different colored carrots from our garden. I also added cabocha to the mix. I roasted it with the peel, I didn't want it to get dry. When it was ready I added the orange part to the salad. I baked everything at 375ºF for 45 minutes or so in a baking sheet covered with foil. I broiled only the potatoes a little bit longer. The warm salad came out amazing. Thank you Sharon for another amazing recipe. Xo
Note: the link is to a recipe in Hebrew, I'll ask Sharon if I could translate her recipe to English.
