A suggestion

Remember About a hat? I decided to stay with the same cotton yarn and write a guide to how I made this very simple hat. I hope to knit it in a diff yarn one day and make it work for everybody. For now the guide will be for a very limited head size.

Pattern is published

Between the Lines shawl is knit with a very soft and smooth sugar cane yarn. The shawl drapes beautifully around the shoulders and back, and adds texture and interest to any outfit. ; The Between the Lines shawl is knit in a simple pattern repeat from the wider neck edge to the bottom tip. The triangular design is formed by four wedges that are created by using different stitches. The eye is drawn to the more complex two center wedges. ; The width and height of Between the lines can be easily adjusted by increasing (or decreasing) the number of repeats that are knit. ; Yarn: 2 skeins of Araucania Ruca Solid, DK / 8 ply, 263 yards (240 meters), 100 grams (3.53 ounces), 100% sugar cane in teal (114). Needles: US 5 - 3.75 mm.

Unknown territory

About a hat is a plain garter hat in the front, and a colorful fun crown in the back, and was knit with cotton yarn. All my previous hats were knit with merino or another form of wool that is stretchy, and therefor work great for hat brims. Because of the non-stretchy cotton I used, the hat has to fit exactly. I'm going to try and find a diff yarn that I'm not allergic to, and is suitable for knitting hats, and then I hope to release the pattern. About a hat can be finished in three diff ways, an i-cord finish, plain or adding a pompom.

Ssk or skp?

Antheia is my new cowl design. Antheia was one of the charites, or graces, of Greek mythology and the Goddess of vegetation, lowlands, marshlands, gardens, blossoms, the budding earth, and human love. Antheia cowl was born with the fall foliage in mind. The design resembles overlapping leaves, and the edges are wavy and organic looking. ; The ochre cowl was knit as a swatch for Antheia cowl and doesn’t have the i-cord BO on both sides. I used ssk for the decreases. The plum cowl is the final design. Instead of ssk I used skp for the decreases. I think it looks much "cleaner". ; Ssk and skp are both left slanted decreases. Ssk has two strands of yarn slanting to the left, and skp has one strand of yarn slanting. The result in my opinion is much better with skp.

Lace

Lace is not my usual thing, but I think it works well for big knitting projects like blankets. ; Yarn: Blue sky alpacas organic cotton, 100% cotton, 150 yards (137 meters), 100 grams (3.53 ounces) in off-white (614 - drift). Needles: US 9.
