The assignment was to develop a contemporary original print based on animal skin. My inspiration was the swallowtail butterfly (top left), you can see the colors I used on the bottom left (other than the off-white) and my creation on the right. It's work in progress, I'm trying to find the right method for doing it right. I used gouache for the flat painting and dry circular brush for the dotted parts. This is the first (original and fresh) attempt.
