Batik / Silk (1)

Same assignment as here. The silk takes the dye much deeper than the cotton. I used Procion MX dye in brilliant orange (020) and raspberry (042).

Batik / Cotton (1)

Cotton fabric dyed with batik technic (hot wax is applied to each layer before dying the next color), will be cut and stitched into patchwork composition, and maybe embellished. This is a practice for a silk version.

Parachute Market

Parachute market in down trown LA, great art and vendors. The food was pretty amazing too, yellow fin tuna tostada, yuzu-chiltepin sorbet, mango and cilantro. Thank you to my dear friends who introduced me to the market, and for spending the day together. It felt like a short vacation.

Olives and berries

My new design of olives and berries. Sometimes being far away from your family and where you were born, and missing everything and everybody results in a personal creative way. Olive trees always reminded me of Israel. The berries came later, after looking for warmer colors for the same design. Hand drawn, manipulated in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
