Banana bread
Very good banana bread recipe. I use only 3/4 cup sugar instead of 1 cup, and usually divide the the mixture between 2 loaf pans and bake for 40 minutes.

Silk printing
I went to a great silk printing class at the Blue Rooster Atwater Studio in Los Angeles. If you're interested in hands on experience on how to burn your own silk screen, using the sun, and non toxic materials, you should try it.

Best meatballs ; 2 color job
Best meatballs I've ever made, if you don't eat pork, you can substitute for beef or veal. I chose to use organic quinoa instead of pasta, it's much healthier, I love the combo. For the quinoa, I just followed the instructions on the bag. If you want to give the quinoa a little kick, follow the instructions, put aside. Sauté some cut fennel and zucchini in olive oil. Use what ever spices you like, I used Baharat. Baharat is a north Africa spice mix, you can get it at any middle eastern food store, or make it yourself. When ready, add the quinoa and mix well. ; When working with only 2 colors on the inside of this UCLA brochure, my challenge was to make it look like there are more.

Geometric geographics
We went to an amazing exhibition last night, called Moshé Elimelech: Geometric Geographics. All water colors represent landscape and/or cityscape in the most beautiful, delicate, and unique way. Moshé is an extremely talented artist, his exhibitions are very enjoyable and inspiring.

Thank you ; Excess
A huge thank you to Amy for your friendship, and the time you spend reading and fixing all my patterns. My English, the instructions, and all the small details I miss so many times. I couldn't do it without you. ; Excess was born to show the simplicity of stockinette and garter stitches together. It is a classic take on the modern slouchy hat. Excess is knit with fingering yarn, making it comfortable, lightweight hat that is perfect accessory for transitional weather, or for everyday wear in milder climates. Thank you to the talented Karen for letting me use her gorgeous pictures. Karen was one of Excess test knitters, in her red hat instead of hammed brim, she used garter brim. I love them both. By clicking the button you can get this pattern for free.

Forward pattern
Design inspiration can strike at any time. After seeing an everyday road sign, the Forward cowl was born. Arrows of stockinette and reverse stockinette were all that was needed, to create the clean, simple, bas-relief that will make Forward a wardrobe staple. You can get the pattern via Ravelry.

Plan B ; Sepia
Remember this sneak peek? I sent it to the vendor to get a sample, and didn't like the results. I'm working on plan B. ; For Marlborough school brochure, they wanted to include old style, sepia pictures. The whole brochure is inspired by that idea, and the fact that it's an only girls school.
